As with natural materials in general, all marble table tops will be unique – sometimes there can even be considerable differences between pieces from the very same quarry.

Marble tops are porous, so need to be properly sealed (or lacquered). In use, they need to be carefully protected from staining, etching and marking - unless one desires a natural finish of stains and marks.
